In this lesson on Flatpicking Guitar you will learn to play the Part A portion of the popular fiddle tune Done Gone.

While I term this an intermediate break, it is not quite up to intermediate guitar player levels. The only reason that I have termed it so is because of the difficult cross-picking passage that spans all six of the guitar strings, and this does indeed take the qualifications of an intermediate flatpick guitar player to play this up-to-speed.

You will hear many versions of this break, and they range from a medium-fast tempo to very fast.

Also, this being a fiddle tune, it is played in the key of Bb. Not too great a key to play a fast guitar lick. Therefore you should place a capo on the 3rd fret and play it in the key of G Major.

You will note that when you capo between the 2nd and 5th frets or so that you can play more quickly and efficiently. This is because of the closer fret spacing's in these positions.
