Cutting your pearl or abalone shell inlays can be a tedious process. Making this a simpler and more convenient process will improve your output and quality.

I have designed this jig to conveniently screw to your workbench top, where you would place a few brass threaded inserts and attachment of the jig is with some knurled knobs.

Also I have included a small aquarium air pump in this design of this jig, to lightly blow away the shell dust that accumulates and typically blocks your view of the pattern you are following.

Unless otherwise specified, ALL plans are sold as electronic downloads. As soon as you complete your plan purchase with us, you will automatically be given a download link to access your plans. Learn why we sell our plans in an electronic version.

Warning: Shell dust is hazardous to your health. Be sure to wear a N95 rated respirator at all times while working with any cutting or sanding operations of sea shells.

These plans are drawn full size and are available for instant download. For your convenience they have be drawn on one sheet of 24" x 36" paper. If you have access to a 11 x 17 printer you can print it on several sheets and stitch them together.

Plans show top, side and edge views of the assembled jig, along with complete dimensions and notes to instruct you every step of the way. You should be able to construct this jig is an hour or two, depending on the type of shop tools you have access to.
