The Gibson Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar is a special limited-run model from the Gibson Custom Shop. With many of the Classic Black Beauty guitar appointments, such as the glossy black finish, gold hardware, multi-ply binding, and block pearl fingerboard inlays on an ebony fretboard, it has the visual appeal that has attracted guitarists for decades.
The Gibson Les Paul Custom also features updated electronics, sporting 3 BurstBucker pickups for an amazing array of tonal possibilities.
In the neck position is a medium output Burstbucker 1 for a sweet vintage sound. In the middle and bridge positions are BurstBucker 2 pickups, which have a slightly hotter output for that extra bite you need to really cut through the mix.

Tuning machines operate smoothly and effortlessly for easy dead-on tuning and string changes.
I would prefer a solid Ebony fingerboard to the Rosewood. Ebony IS available on the upper priced models and as well worth the extra money to get it.
The Gibson Les Paul Custom is literally the perfect guitar for any type of music you play. The only exception would be fingerstyle picking, which is better handles by the big semi-hollow body guitars. The Humbuckers are fantastic and I would expect nothing less from pickups of this quality.
The Gibson Les Paul Custom plays incredible as delivered. If your preference is lower or higher action, adjustment with the Tune-O-matic bridge is a cinch.
The Gibson Les Paul Custom had perfect action at the nut as deliver too, and as you know, I fussy about low string action. See my article on Action Adjustment for directions to do this easily and professionally.
The Gibson Les Paul Custom is quite durable. From the solid carved wood body construction the to trussed neck this guitar will take a lot of abuse. Be cautious of all the guitar edges however as there is nothing to protect the finished edges other than the finish itself. So a hard bang on a music stand, wood chair or table and you will have a unsightly chipped edge.
Other than that, the guitar is extremely durable, as most solid bodied electrics are.

From the carved maple top to the mahogany back, Gibson Les Paul Custom is a great work of art. Everything is neat and clean with very little frills. Be careful with the edges of the body though as they are not protected by anything other than the finish.
The Gibson Les Paul Custom Humbucker pickups perform flawlessly and gives this guitar amazing sound and versatility. The sound is clean and great for jazz and mellow rock and very able to handle those Les Paul licks!
If you are a serious music student or professional guitarist, this guitar will more than meet anything you want to tackle. I give it very high marks.
