Forked Deer Intermediate Tab PartC - Acoustic Guitar Lesson
This is the third or the Part C portion of the intermediate flatpick guitar break for Forked Deer
Forked Deer was one of about a dozen of the first flatpicking tune that I learned on the acoustic guitar.
This break can be used as an alternate to the Forked Deer Part A tab that we studied a few lessons ago.
This version is quite similar to the Part A with the exception of being played one octave lower. Also, this break is a bit simpler in that the are not any triplet eighth notes.
Add this break to your bag of tricks and have a great time with it.
The first measure of the break starts out with a couple of eighth note pickup notes, so watch your timing of this measure very carefully.
Also this break uses a steady stream of eighth notes for the main portion of the break so your right hand is in for a real workout when this break is played up-to-speed..
The hardest portion of this lesson is in the 8th measure of the break shown below. The easiest way to handle this measure is to use the C Major chord form (shown above the score in the chord diagram).
Hold your chord your fingers in position and lift them up as needed and make your hammer-ons as needed..
If you would like the Guitar Pro File for this break, which is very faithful to the song and will allow you to make your own unique break, play along with this break, and give you the speed training option, you can load it here: Forked Deer Intermediate Tab PartC, Guitar Pro File.
